Powerful You from Betty & Lori

I love this Shoshanna "Alessandra" dress for the office. This outfit says: That woman is a go-getter. Blue, the preferred color in corporate America, is a strong, serious and powerful hue. Pair it up with yellow and gold tones and you will be unstoppable. Yellow is warm, happy, and energetic. What a great balance, don't you think? These two colors go so well together.
Don't be afraid to use bold colors to the office. One bright solid color can be enough. Use these hues to help inspire you and motivate you too (especially as we endure this long and cold winter!). Keep makeup toned down with neutrals for a nice balance.
This dress is a great example of versatility. I paired this outfit together with my reliable Fendi open-toe pumps for a chic creative work event. Although, I would definitely switch up the shoes to a nude or black pointy pump for the office, and fun strappy sandals for a night out.

Always remember that trends come and go. Classic YOU is all you need to help you feel confident and strong in and out of the office (or home, or classroom...). So tell me, what's your power outfit? Please share!

Hitting the Runway for a Cause! from Betty & Lori

Last week, I was invited to the Family and Children's Services Red Carpet fund raiser in my town. Lori was a committee member and asked if I would walk the runway and model a few of the dresses she carries in the boutique. Of course, I said yes! I was excited to meet New York designer Marissa Webb, and overjoyed to see women ranging from 18 to 50+ throw on their confident smile and strut the catwalk!
The models volunteered and a vast majority of the people attending the event donated their services, time and money to help Family and Children's Services raise funds for abused and neglected children.
Family& Children's Services (FACS) is an independent non-profit behavioral health and social services agency based in Elizabeth, NJ serving Union County and the surrounding areas with an emphasis on those most vulnerable, at-risk, disadvantaged and under-served. FACS counts on public donations and I was happy take part in the event.

We had so much fun! Fashion should always be exciting, but super important and remarkable when using it for a good cause.
